During the build-up of Showroom MAMA's exhibitions, its windows are used for the Raamproject(Window Project). Under the guidance of one or two of MAMA's Rookies, art academy students and other aspiring creatives are given the chance to make a design for Showroom MAMA's windows. For Raamproject XI the responsibility falls to the Willem de Kooning Academy's Illustration and Graphic Design students.
A Sick Zine, a Rotterdam collective founded in 2010, has developed a Raamproject project called Trash = Kash. They are Silas Nout, Martin van der Molen and Romano Watamaleo. The collective arose from the need for absurdity in their own work. Unable to fulfil this at the academy they created their own podium, without the Internet and without a computer, but by hand and with much love. The resulting zine is full of cut and pasted images and manually typewritten text. Its trademark is "absurd humour and vague poetry."

Project leader Margriet Brouwer and MAMA Rookie Lori van Vlerken saw in the subjects and working methods of A Sick Zine a connection to the upcoming exhibition 'High Brow, Lowbrow, Nobrow - Mousse'. The collective's response to the Raamproject is to provide different views on the concept 'Moussism'. When is 'junk' valuable? How does the public react to things that are off the beaten track? In short, stories told with images bring forward different points of view. A Sick Zine's absurd black/white collages provide food for thought. Their combinations of text and image formulate standpoints that oblige the viewer to make a choice: embrace or reject.

From 7 April to 23 June Showroom MAMA presents
'High Brow, Lowbrow, Nobrow - Mousse'. Opening Friday April 6, 19:00 - 23:00
Mouse Art is central to this group exhibition by guest curator Harlan Levey (HLProjects, Brussels): art that "looks like shit but tastes sweet". 'High Brow, Lowbrow, Nobrow – Mousse' is both a rejection and an embracing of contemporary art. Moussism is a 'movement' that above all doesn't want to be a movement.
