Wat is dit, mama...?
Naar aanleiding van een uitnodiging van MAMA om iets te doen voor de Rotterdamse Museumnacht, kwam ' dit dit ' op de proppen met een subtiele actie, die je slechts per toeval zou kunnen hebben opgemerkt.
We creëerde allerlei 'persoonlijk' ogende bezittingen en vage tassen en objecten samen, die we overal op de route en in de galeries en musea, deelnemend aan de Museumnacht achterlieten.
Portefeuille
Zo lieten we een portefeuille er uitzien alsof hij echt van iemand was, door er oa pasfotootjes in te stoppen.
De portefeuille werd op een antieke stoel in het Boymans museum achtergelaten. De mensen die de portefeuille zagen liggen, keken er eerst vervreemd naar en pakten 'm vervolgens van de stoel. Na erin gekeken te hebben gaven ze 'm aan een suppoost die de portefeuille vervolgens weer op de stoel terug legde...

Ook een met vuurwerk aangekleedde worst werd door een paar van ons vanaf een afstand bekeken, hopend dat de vinder het oude stuk vlees zou aansteken. Maar de knaap die de worst vond, stopte 'm in z'n rugtas en fietste weg.

Verder maakten we oa een aantal zeefdruk copieën van een transfer-litho van Picasso, in het bezit van 'dit dit'. Samen met een echtheidscertificaat, lieten we bijvoorbeeld exemplaren in het museum Boymans en Kunsthal achter.

What’s this, mama?
As a result of an invitation of MAMA to come up with something for the Rotterdamse museum night, came ‘Dit is dit’ (this is this) with a subtle act, which you could have only notice by chance. We created all kinds of ‘personally’ looking possessions, vague bags and objects, which we everywhere left behind on the route and in the gallery’s and museums, participating to the museum night.
Bag with catfood
This way we let a wallet look like as if it was really belonged to someone, by putting in – amongst other things – passport photographs. The wallet was left behind on an ancient chair in the Boymans museum. People who saw the wallet lying on the chair, looked at it alienated at first, then they grasped it from the chair. After for examinating the wallet they gave it to a usher, who thereafter put the wallet back on the chair. ..
Sausage with fireworks
Also a with firework coated sausage was being watched by a couple of us from a distance, hoping that the finder would light the old piece of flesh. But the lad who found the sausage, tucked it in his rug sack and cycled away.
Picasso copy
Furthermore we made also a number of screen printings of transfer-litho of Picasso, in the possession of ‘this this’. Togheter with an authenticity certificate, we left behind a number of copies in the museum Boymans and the Kunsthal.
