Het Mr Miyagi programma 2007 is weer van start gegaan. De geselecteerde deelnemers storten zich vol overgave in de onderzoeksfase van het project. Zij gaan eindexamenshows bekijken in België en Nederland, bezoeken kunstenaarsinitiatieven en gaan op atelierbezoek.
Mama heeft speciaal voor dit project een e-learning area opgezet waar documentatie van kunstenaars kan worden opgeslagen en gedeeld en waar men in de fora kan discussiëren met de Mr Miyagi curatoren en mentoren. De nu al driftige activiteiten op deze zogenaamde moodle beloven een bijzondere show die in December 2007 te zien zal zijn.
Wederom was het niet eenvoudig om uit alle aanmeldingen 6 nieuwe curatoren te selecteren die het volledige Mr Miyagi programma gaan volgen. MAMA is vereerd om hen hier te mogen voorstellen: Imke Ruigrok, Charl Landvreugd, Ipek M. Sur, Eva Roovers, Tom Goossen en Marie-Anne Souloumiac.
Zij gaan voor MAMA een project ontwikkelen dat hun visie als curator geeft op het werk van in 2007 aan academies in de Benelux afgestudeerden. Het internationale mentorenpanel dat onze Miyagi’s begeleiding en feedback geeft, bestaat deze keer uit Ken Pratt (curator Londen), Bettina Carl (kunstenares/curator Zürich), Janice McNab (kunstenares Amsterdam/Edinburgh) en Nous Faes (directeur Showroom MAMA Rotterdam).

The Mister Miyagi program 2007 has set off again. At the moment the final participants are eagerly diving into the research stage of the project. They will visit final-exam exhibitions, artist-initiatives and ateliers throughout Belgium and The Netherlands.
Behind the scenes MAMA has set up a special e-learning area where the participants can file and share ideas, inspirations and artist-information. It also offers the possibility to discuss content and findings with the other Miyagi's and the mentors. The high activity on this so-called moodle promises a special exhibition that can be seen in December 2007.
Again, it wasn't an easy task to select 6 new curators who would go on to the subsequent stages of the program. MAMA proudly announces the 6 fresh curators who will participate in the programme: Imke Ruigrok, Charl Landvreugd, Ipek M. Sur, Eva Roovers, Tom Goossen en Marie-Anne Souloumiac.
They will work on a MAMA-project that showcases their curatorial vision drawn from work of the 2007 graduates of any academy in the Benelux. The international panel of mentors that will provide our Miyagi's guidance and feedback consists of Ken Pratt (curator London), Bettina Carl (artist/curator Zürich), Janice McNab (artist Amsterdam/Edinburgh) and Nous Faes (director Showroom MAMA Rotterdam).
