Sinds begin jaren '90 geldt Tulip Enterprises als een van de grondleggers van de club-art in Berlijn. Zij visualiseren de techno cultuur in hun in fluorescerende en fosforescerende verf geschilderde schilderijen. Deze schilderijen van Tulip kunnen als iconen binnen de techno-club cultuur van begin jaren negentig worden beschouwd. Met de tentoonstelling in mama maakte het publiek kennis met de wortels van de clubkunst, zoals die vandaag de dag nog steeds actueel is in Berlijn.

Voor deze gelegenheid werd mama omgebouwd tot club. Het publiek kon zich tijdens de tentoonstelling amuseren met het speciaal aangelegde lichtorgel dat de schilderijen steeds anders belichten. Het wisselende lichtplan veranderde het uiterlijk van de schilderijen.

De tentoonstellingsruimte als club: Nach_bar
Florian Wurz en Jeroen Jongeleen presenteerden tijdens de opening en de drie vrijdagen daarna hun Nach_bar. Iedere vrijdagavond nodigden zij een kunstenaar uit om de bar om te bouwen en te hosten. Achtereenvolgens zetten Lucio Auri (Berlijn), Marc Bijl en Dj Alien de mama-club naar hun hand.

De Nach-bar aanhang van de kunstenaars Jeroen Jongeleen en Florian Wurz bestond grotendeels uit individuen uit het traditionele kunstcircuit. Omdat de Nach-bar naast een kunstwerk ook een café was, ontstond er een interessante combinatie van publieksgroepen. Het Nach_bar publiek mixte zich uitstekend met de Club scène die in grote getale op de Clubkunst af kwam. Zo diende (club) mama als ontmoetingsplek en expositieruimte tergelijkertijd.

De kunstenaars die de bar hosten konden de Bar volledig naar hun hand zetten, verbouwen of de regels veranderen.

Insektenbar
De Berlijnse kunstenaar Lucio Auri maakte een 'insektenbar', er traden twee gast- DJ's op die samen met Lucio een Oost-Berlijnse bar anno 2000 simuleerden.

Liquor-store
Marc Bijl transformeerde de Nach_bar in een illegale liquor-store. Hij verkocht van achter tralies sterke drank. Terwijl op de achtergrond ranzige Hongaarse porno werd afgespeeld.

Op 78 toeren
DJ Alien presenteerde zijn project His Masters Voice. Swingbeat, jazz en polka's werden ten gehore gebracht op een 78-toeren deejayset. Deze DJ-set is een verzamelobject en geldt als voorloper op de hedendaagse disco-apparatuur.

Since the beginning of the 1990's, Tulip Enterprises have been one of the pioneers of the club art of Berlin. They create a visualisation of techno culture with their flourescent and phosphorescent paintings. These paintings by the Tulips have become considered iconic of the culture within the techno club ciruit at the start of the ‘90's. With this exhibition in MAMA the public could become familiar with the roots of clab art as if they were actually in Berlin at the time.

For this happening, MAMA was rebuilt into a club. During the exhibition, the public could amuse themselves with the specially built ‘light organ' that lit the paintings in different ways. The changing lightoing plan altered the appearance of the paintings.

The Exhibiotion Space as Club: Nach_bar
Florian Wurz and Jeroen Jongeleen presented their Nach_bar (Nigh_bar) during the opening and for three friday evenings afterwards. The invited an artist to contrust and host a bar for each of these evenings. Lucio Auri (Berlin), Marc Bijl (NL) and DJ Alien (NL) subsequently put their touch to the MAMA club.

The followers of Jeroen Jongeleen and Florian Wurz's Nach-bar consisted largely of individuals from the traditional art circuit. Because the Nach-bar, a work of art, was additionally a cafe, an interesting combination of clienteles existed. The Nach_bar crowd mixed excellently with the club scene crowd who descended in large numbers to take in the club art. Thus (Club) MAMA served as a social meeting place and exhibition space simultaneously. The artists who hosted the bar were given a free hand, could rebuild or change the rules.

Insektenbar (Insect Bar)
The Berlin artist Lucio Auri made an ‘insect bar' where two guest DJ's appeared appeared together to simulate an east Berlin bar circa 2000.

Op 78 toeren
DJ Alien presented his project, ‘His Masters Voice'. Swingbeat, jazz and polkas could be heard on a 78-revolution dj system. This dj system is a collector's item, a predecessor of contemporary disco equipment.
