Na het grote succes van de Mister Miyagi - Curating Tommorow piloteditie in 2005,
is MAMA blij en trots om de start van Mister Miyagi - Curating Tomorrow 2006 aan te kondigen!
Hiermee zetten we het prikkelende onderwijsprogramma voort. Het doel hiervan is om zinvolle leermogelijkheden te creëren voor nieuwe curatoren of voor mensen die denken dat curator hét beroep voor hen is.
Over het programma
Het Mr. Miyagi curators programme biedt een selecte groep van jonge curatoren de mogelijkheid om mee te doen aan een programma waar ze worden bijgestaan door een internationale groep van mentoren op het gebied van curation. De geselecteerde kandidaten doen mee aan workshops en werken samen met de hulp van de mentoren aan het ontwikkelen van een project dat in december 2006 te zien zal zijn in Rotterdam.
Het programma is een van MAMA's onderwijsinitiatieven. Het doel hiervan is het opbouwen van capaciteit en vakkundigheid voor de volgende generatie die zich gaat bezighouden met kunst & cultuur door middel van gerichte beroepservaring en leren. Ter afsluiting van het programma ontwikkelen de deelnemers een project dat het talent van jonge kunstenaars laat zien. Die jonge kunstenaars profiteren hier dus ook van.
Hoe kan ik meedoen?
Als je denkt dat je de volgende getalenteerde en creatieve curator bent of denkt dat curator hét beroep voor jou is, schrijf je dan in door het formulier in te vullen. De volledige gegevens van het 2006 programma, de voorwaarden voor deelname en de werkwijze staan onder.
Aanvragen moeten uiterlijk binnen zijn op 21 mei 2006.
Ook in 2006 biedt MAMA het programma geheel gratis aan de definitieve deelnemers aan! We vragen echter wel € 25,- aan inschrijf- en administratiekosten. Wanneer je bij de 12 gelukkigen hoort die geselecteerd worden voor de eerste tweedaagse workshop, betaal je nog eenmalig € 150,- aan workshopkosten. Wanneer je vervolgens definitief geselecteerd wordt en daarmee behoort bij de 6 deelnemers die Mr Miyagi curator 2006 gaan worden, dan betaal je dus helemaal niets meer! De € 25,- moet voor 20 mei bij Showroom MAMA op de rekening staan. Je kunt het geld overmaken aan:

After the great success of the Mister Miyagi - Curating Tomorrow pilot in 2005, MAMA is pleased to announce the launch of Mister Miyagi - Curating Tomorrow 2006
This sees the continuation of this exciting education programme opportunity. The aim of the programme is to provide relevant learning opportunities for new curators and people who think that becoming a curator may be a career for them.
About the Programme
The Mr. Miyagi Curators Programme will offer an opportunity for a select group of young curators to take part in a programme that will involve them being supported by an international group of mentor curators. Those selected will participate in workshops and work together with the support of the mentors to produce a project that will be shown in Rotterdam in December 2006.
The programme is one of MAMA's education initiatives, the Mr. Miyagi projects. It aims to build capacity and skill for the next generation of cultural practitioners through relevant vocational experience and learning.
And, in keeping with the overall ethos of the programme, they will develop a project that will showcase talented young artists. So, it will also benefit young artists and continue to address a younger visual arts audience.
So How Can I Be Involved?

Applications need to be received no later than Sunday 21 May 2006.
Again, in 2006, MAMA is offering this programme for free to the final participants. We do ask for a registration- and entrance-fee of € 25,-. When you're one of the lucky 12 who are selected to take part in the first workshop event, you will have to pay € 150,- as workshop-fee.
In the end, when you're selected to progress to the last six, hence becoming one of the Mr. Miyagi curators 2006, you won't have to pay anything!
