ArtRotterdam 2005 Projects

Donderdag 24 februari opent ArtRotterdam officieel in de
Cruise Terminal, (Wilhelminakade Rotterdam).
MAMA presenteert op deze internationale kunstbeurs
twee projecten.
Jeroen Everaert en Mothership zal werk persenteren
met een deels 'hondse' inslag, waaronder een gigantische interactieve
meganische hond van Freerk Wieringa en nieuw werk van
de Jappaner Masahiro Fukayama. Fukayama - een grote
succes op de Kunstvlaai 2004 - toont een 'body armour' die
de drager transformeert in een fantastische hond. Ook wordt
de droomboot van Wipke Iwersen -de winnaar van de Shell
Young Art Award 2004- getoond. Tot slot wordt het laatste
werk van Arno Coenen ge‘xposeerd een moza•ek
met de afbeelding van een pas gevangen Sadam Hussein geflankeerd
door zijn twee dode zoons.
"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" gecureerd
door Ken Pratt presenteert nog nooit getoond werk van
Nederlandse en internationale kunstenaars, waaronder nieuw
werk van DJ Chantelle, Jemima & Dolly Brown,
Marcelle Price, Jimmy Robert, Milika Muritu
en Angie Reed om maar een paar te noemen.
Deze twee projecten zijn te bezoeken gedurende de loop van
de kunstbeurs vanaf 24 tot en met 28 februari.

Thursday 24 February 2005 sees the official opening of ArtRotterdam
at the Cruise Terminal (Wilhelminakade, Rotterdam)
MAMA will be there with two projects.
Jeroen Everaert and Mothership will be presenting
work with a partially canine flavour. This includes a gigantic
mechanical dog by Freek Wieringa and new work by the
Japanese artist Masahiro Fukayama - a big a hit at
Kunstvlaai 2004- in which the wearer of a bizarre body armour
can metamorphise into a fantastic hound. Other work includes
the dream boat by Wipke Iwersen, winner of the Shell
Young Art Award 2004. Finally, the most recent work of Arno
Coenen with be on show; a mosaic showing a freshly captured
Sadam Hussein flanked by his two dead sons.
"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" curated
by Ken Pratt will present work by Dutch and international
artists never before shown in the Netherlands. This will include
new work by DJ Chantelle, Jemima & Dolly Brown,
Milika Muritu, Marcelle Price, Angie Reed
and Jimmy Robert.
These two projects will be open to all visitors to the art
fair for its duration from the 24 until 28 February 2005.
