Etcétera… Kunstenaars: Etcétera… (Loreto Garin Guzman & Federico Zukerfeld) Datum: 5 juni - 8 augustus 2010 Opening: 4 juni 19:00 - 23:00 Van 4 juni tot en met 8 augustus 2010 is in MAMA het werk te zien van de Argentijnse kunstenaarsactiegroep Etcétera… Dit samenwerkingsverband van beeldend kunstenaars, dichters, poppenspelers en acteurs, aangevoerd door Federico Zukerfeld en Loreto Garin Guzman, is opgericht in 1997 en infiltreert in sociale manifestaties en conflicten. De verslagen en vertalingen van deze infiltraties worden verplaatst naar de massamedia en tentoonstellingsruimtes. Deze tentoonstelling is een overzicht van dertien jaar Etcétera… In foto's, film en pamfletten wordt verslag gedaan van hun acties. Een centraal werk in de tentoonstelling is het Kabaret d´Error, een installatie van zwart-witte schilderijen en bordkartonnen historische figuren die in de setting van een vooroorlogs theater commentaar leveren op ‘errors' die de loop van de wereldgeschiedenis bepaald hebben. Voor hun eerste solopresentatie in Nederland wordt de installatie in de showroom aangepast aan de Nederlandse politieke ontwikkelingen en ‘errors'. Het Kabaret d´Error komt voort uit de fascinatie van Etcétera… voor ´errorism', een levensfilosofie gebaseerd op het maken van fouten. In 2005 richtte Etcétera… The International Errorists op, een organisatie die inmiddels wereldwijd is vertakt en onafhankelijke cellen kent. The International Errorists beschouwen ‘errors' als de sleutel in de ontwikkeling van de mensheid. De installatie Kabaret d'Error was eerder te zien op de Biënnale van Istanbul (2009), en de Cuvée Biennale in Linz. Etcétera…'s performances en installaties waren in Europa eerder te zien in Museum Ludwig (Keulen, 2004), Kunsthalle Fridericianum (Kassel, 2005), Galerie Frank Elbaz (Parijs, 2008). |
Etcétera… Artists: Etcétera… (Loreto Garin Guzman & Federico Zukerfeld) Date: June 5th - August 8th 2010 Opening: June 4th 19:00 - 23:00 From June 4th through August 8th 2010 MAMA exhibits work by the Argentinean collective Etcétera... This collaboration consisting of visual artists, poets, puppeteers and actors, conducted by Federico Zukerfeld and Loreto Garin Guzman, was founded in 1997 and infiltrates social manifestations and conflicts. The reports and translations of these infiltrations are transferred to mass media and exhibition spaces. The exhibition Etcétera... renders an overview of the past thirteen years of the collective's existence. Photos, film and pamphlets give an account of the action. A central work in the exhibition is the Kabaret d'Error, an installation featuring black and white paintings and historical cardboard figures set in a prewar theatre, commenting on the 'errors' which shaped the course of world history. For their first presentation in the Netherlands the installation is adapted to the Dutch political developments and 'errors'. The Kabaret d'Error is inspired by Etcétera... 's fascination for 'errorism', a philosophy of life based on making mistakes. In 2005 Etcétera.... founded The International Errorists, an organization which by now has branched off globally and features independent cells. The International Errorists view 'errors' as the key to the development of humanity. The installation Kabaret d'Error was on view at the Istanbul Biennial (2009) and the Cuvée Biennial in Linz. In 1997 the Etcétera… collective came into being as an action group, their performances and installations were previously on show in Europe at the Ludwig Museum (Cologne, 2004), Kunsthalle Fridericianum (Kassel, 2005) and Galerie Frank Elbaz (Paris, 2008). |
