When the Lady Talks is een middagvullende reeks van tien korte lezingen (speed-lectures), en bevat twee debatmomenten. De tien deelnemers komen uit Nederland of Belgie. Vanuit het werkgebied mode, kunst of wetenschap leggen zij met beeld omkleedde persoonlijke statements af over de onder-werpen gender(politics), female identity, performativiteit, stijlvormen en codes. 
Wordt mode ingezet als excentriek statement over gender- en rasbewust-zijn? Hoe ziet de geschiedenis van het broekpak eruit? Zal het spiksplinternieuwe GLU-Magazine, de opvolger van KUTT, aanslaan bij de beoogde doelgroep van ‘sophisticated lesbiënnes’? Wat is volgens dr. Liedeke Plate de relatie tussen gender en urbaniteit? Dit zijn enige voorbeelden van wat langs komt. Daarnaast bijvoorbeeld de productie die Sands Murray-Wassink in oktober op het Gay & Lesbian Filmfes-tival in Parijs laat zien en het nieuwe en verrassende drag-orientated werk dat Risk Hazekamp afgelopen zomer in diezelfde stad maakte. De middag bevat daarmee een aantal premieres en try-outs van nieuw werk die de liefhebber niet mag missen, door de makers ervan beargumenteerd en als bonus een spectaculair optreden van beeldend kunstenaar en performer DJ Chantelle. When the Lady Talks legt de relatie tussen de productie We'll Feed You: Ladyshave at Arminius op zaterdagavond en de tentoonstelling Ladyshave Home Edition in Showroom MAMA. De middag wordt daarom ingeleid door Ken Pratt (GB), gastcurator van de tentoonstellingen Ladyshave en Ladyshave Home Edition. Xandra Schutte, als geen ander thuis in de thema's van bestaande of vermeende grenzen en coderingen in de kunsten en in de samenleving, is moderator van het programma. When the Lady Talks is Nederlands gesproken en gratis toegankelijk. Deelnemers aan het debat : Xandra Schutte (1963), journalist, redacteur en schrijfster van o.a. de essaybundel ‘Maskerade’. Jessica Gysel(1969), voormalig editor van Kutt-magazine, maakt nu met Kathrin Hero het nieuwe magazine Girls Like Us. Risk Hazekamp (1972), kunstenaar en deelnemer aan "Ladyshave Home Edition." Arjette Hinke Schreuders (1969), kunstenaar, ontwerper en commentator en deelnemer aan Ladyshave Home Edition. Liedeke Plate (1963), universitair docent ACW & Genderstudies, Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. Sue-An van der Zijpp (1971), kunsthistorica en conservator Hedendaagse Kunst van het Groninger Museum. Ari Versluis (1961), fotograaf en met Ellie Uyttenbroek maker van de succesvolle reeks Exactitudes. Marga Weimans (1970), mode- vormgever en deelnemer aan Ladyshave Home Edition. Jasmina Fekovic (1976), documentairemaker en deelnemer aan Ladyshave Home Edition. Sands Murray-Wassink (1974), schilder en performance / body / live art kunstenaar. Nele Bernheim (1974), mode-historica, afkomstig uit België en opgeleid in New York. Ken Pratt (1967), Gastcurator van Ladyshave en Ladyhave Home Edition. When The Lady Talksis a mid-afternoon event; a series of ten short "speed lectures" and two discussion events. The ten participants come the Netherlands and Belgium. Coming from the disciplines of fashion, art or the human sciences they will deliver personal statements - illustrated with images- on range of subjects including gender(politics), performativity, style forms and codes. Is fashion becoming an eccenttic statement about gender -and race- identity? What are the historic origins of the trouser suit? Will the brand new GLU Magazine - the follow-up to KUTT- strike a chord with its target group of "sophisticated lesbians"? What, according to Dr Liedeke Plate is the relation between gender and urbanity. These examples are only a taster of what will be on offer. For example, the production by Sands Murray-Wassink that will be premiered this October on the Paris Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and the suprising new drag-orientated work by Risk Hazekamp, also executed in that city, will also be examined. In this way, the afternoon will include a number of premieres and try-outs of new works prensented by the artists themselves that the afficianado dare not miss. And, as an added bonus, the spectacular performance by the viusal and performance artist, DJ Chantelle. When The Lady Talksexplores the common ground between the production We'll Feed You on the Saturday evening and the exhibtion, Ladyshave Home Edition at Showroom MAMA. Therefore, the afternoon will be introduced by Ken Pratt (GB), guest curator of the exhibitions Ladyshave and Ladyshave Home Edition. Xandra Schutte, no stranger to the themes of existing or intended borders and codifications in the arts and society, will moderate the programme. When The Lady Talks is a Dutch language event and entrance is free.
